Hello Devon
Hello Devon, in July 2022 I moved from Lymington in the New Forest to a small village near Tiverton in the beautiful county of Devon, somewhere I used to come on holiday too and now I live there. I would call that a successful move.
In the New Forest I had built a successful photography business beginning in 2006, covering Weddings – Family Portraits – School Photographer at the Gurston Down Hillclimb School – The New Forest Show for seven years and the Pride event Bourne Free for three years, a residential school for children with Autism (one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs I have ever undertaken) and everything in between. Leaving the New Forest meant leaving the business and all my connections behind, but that was ok as I was moving to Devon, one of the most beautiful counties in the country. In the three years since I made the move I have shot a few weddings, a few family portraits and all for the experience rather than financial gain. During this time I have had a great ammount of stress free fun, met some amazing people and laughed out loud on so many occasions, the people in Devon are great and have taken me to their hearts, Thank You Devon.
I continue to be a member of the Soiety of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and attend the annual convention in London, where I work as a print handler during the 20 x 16 print competition. Viewing prints submitted for judging from all the corners of the globe and with Judges from every part of the world has kept my interest in the art of photography alive and kicking.
Now to bring my story up to date: July 2025: and I find myself with time on my hands, a wealth of experience waiting to be used and shared and an unbelievable amount of cameras, lenses and ancillary equipment, all going to waste.
Its time to look out into the surrounding area for couples getting married, families who appreciate each other and value the memories recorded in camera and events of all manner, everything considered and most likely taken on. I still love a challenge
Do you know someone who loves the power of a picture to record a precious moment in time ?
Then please get in touch, challenge me to create something new, unique and personal to you
If you have made it this far, congratulations. This blog is my experiences of photographing hundreds of weddings and if the advice has helped you in any way, leave me a comment.
If you have a question for me, leave it below and I will do my best to answer it for you
All the best Robb
